balancing at the edge of humanity

balancing at the edge of humanity

tottering and swaying
the human integer
living on like a rock
no interest in the slaughter
all is destroyed
all is perishable
like heaven and earth
constantly crumbling
belonging to the earth
being without shadow
with a hardened heart
worshiping different gods
beyond the normal limits
a bankruptcy of despair
the smell of love
insatiable as the belly
the wind standing up
crying with lungs of freedom
struggling in a tomb
in a den of vipers
it was all chaos
shreds of the periphery
of null and void

thoughts crawling out of a dark corner

thoughts crawling out of a dark corner

above life and death
flowing on like time
tugging away at me
admitting my delusions
led by its independence
grasping for death
biting like Satan
down into the ooze
through your heavens and hells
slay me with a walking dream
on the other side
the planets’ revolution
detached through sorrow
through outstretched palms
knowing too precisely
haunted by the object
striking me now
the grain of ugliness
vibrations emanating
a monstrous edifice

it is almost invisible in your mind

it is almost invisible in your mind

the effect dizzying
secret’s in my hand
laughing all the way
like twisted gnomes
waiting for it to blow over
hollowing out the base
nibbling at the bait
every bloody thing
belching fire and pestilence
with cloven hoofs
no world of my own
drifting from day to day
vivid before my eyes
after the rain
it pours into my soul
blackest rain
rubbing seldom with the world
they live inside me
never taken the course
submerged lives
raised to the 10th degree
tenaciously lodged with
a strange unfamiliar world

Depicting the landscape as it once was

Depicting the landscape as it once was

Of the disposed
The fears of existence
Her inner thing
Nothing better
Nothing worse
A treat of ordinary brutality
Tremors desired
Champagne atrocities
She gives without asking
On the edge of chaos
Using a dazzling array
So deeply fundamental
Demands that big pills
work better than small
especially when chased down
with half a bottle of vodka
deep connections
between cause and effect
discriminating between art and effect
purposeful frenzies

Going Down to the river with my bucket

Going Down to the river with my bucket

One more silver dollar
Burning a hole in my pocket
Entering through closed fire
Playing with remembrance
Running with my wishes
Out your back door
In the hot morning sun
Bringing me happiness
The wrong and the hundred ways
Not just making
But, taking away
Rolling brown and blessed
Crispy like tumbleweed
Down, down un luck
Looks good going down
Watch it all burn down
Doing me wrong
Wild candy dances
She has wisdom in her eyes
Doing me right
True to another
True to the cut
Shooting dice
And building homes
Before the cow comes
Your up and down melody
we aren’t through
just beginning
just used to the coaster
meeting all the beauties
riding with the Russians

How Much?

How Much?

And then, it surfaces
The darkness
I try to keep it out
It pries it way through
The space under the door
And I see
Like never before
The Formica of your touch
Cold and dull
Mechanical and unfeeling
As if you are going through the motions
Following the orders
Of your master
You are something
Made for nightmares
The time we spend
Means nothing to you
Everything to me
And I know
In the end
There is nothing
There is always a dollar
To be made
Any way you can
Just speak it into existence
The first car
Down your dusty road
That leads you back
To me
Easier to wallow
In the confusion
We both lie
We both hurt
We both walk away
From each other
A those practiced lines
I found written in your notebook
You pretended to be cold
Your distance was a disguise
And now
I know
You will never say
How much you love me

They were not written

They were not written

Upon your mind
No, they were not
It just couldn’t be
No matter how many times
You tried to twist it around
In your mind
It still didn’t fit
Didn’t make sense
And it never will
Just accept that
And get over it
We all have
Well, most of us
